Let’s face it — Mac OS Finder is definitely not the best piece of software Apple has to offer. Well it’s quite okay for basic file management and even provides some cool features, but if you wanna do a bit more you have to use other tools. One of them is FileRun, a much improved Finder with a bunch of great features such as tabbed browsing, advanced volume management and many more.

FileRun is intended to replace the Finder. So it would not have been adviseable to create an icon that looks completely different. So I decided to use a similar shape for the icon, added some transparent areas, some reflections and a stylized button, that should emphasize the simplicity of the application respectively the ease of use.

For more information head over to the official FileRun web site. The application itself is not available yet, since Maximilian Goetfried is still polishing the user interface and optimizing the app for the new Intel Macs.
