Dashball Lite
I'm excited to announce that the free version of Dashball has just been approved by Apple and is now available at the App Store. The free version comes with the same improved accelerometer controls as the recently released Dashball 1.1 update.
Check it out and take the challenge in 5 selected levels. And of course feel free to upgrade to the full version to unlock many more levels. I hope you enjoy :)
Dashball - Now Available
Good things come to those who wait. I'm proud to announce that the highly anticipated iPhone game "Dashball" finally made it to the App Store. Grab your copy and be one of the first to enjoy the smashing breakout puzzle fun.
To start with I’d like to thank you for all your feedback and suggestions on Dashball and the recently released Dashball wallpaper set. Also kudos to the many beta testers who did an amazing job. And last but not least thanks to my wife and friends for their patience and support over the last couple of months :)
The Game
So what is the game about? Well personally I’d define it as action puzzle game where the goal is to destroy all the colored blocks by controlling a bouncing ball. Each of the 25 levels contains three kinds of blocks:
- blocks that can be destroyed
- blocks that can be moved
- and blocks that change the color of the ball.
There is also a fourth kind of block that you will learn to dread: the red skull block. Avoid this one at all costs! Since you can only smash or move blocks of the same color as the ball, you have to choose wisely in which order you smash, move and change colors.
You’re in control
Dashball is designed for casual gaming and therefore is easy to control. Just tap the screen on the left or right side to move the ball one step left or right. Tap+hold to move the ball continuously. And for even more challenging game play we’ve also implemented accelerometer support: Just tilt your iPhone left or right to move the ball in the desired direction.
Let’s rock
What’s the point of owning an iPod if you can’t listen to music? Well, Dashball certainly won’t stop you. Just start the music track before you launch the game. Nice huh? But enough talking, let’s get the ball rolling…
Update
Dashball 1.1 is now available. Besides several bug fixes we significantly improved the accelerometer controls. Make sure you grab the new version!
Dashball Wallpaper
In just a couple of days Dashball will hit the App Store. Today you can already download the official wallpaper set: It contains a high resolution wallpaper for your desktop as well as smaller one for your iPhone or iPod touch. Grab ’em while they're hot :)
I thought it might be nice to release the official wallpaper set a couple of days before Dashball - the smashing breakout puzzle game for your iPhone and iPod touch - will be available at the App Store. Enjoy :)
Update
I just added a plain version of the desktop version… without the Dashball logo. In case you’ve already downloaded the package, make sure you grab the new one :)
Long time no hear
Was kinda quiet here over the last couple of months, right? Well that was mainly because I was working on some really interesting projects — mainly iPhone apps — that kept me from publishing new stuff. And there is one more thing…
tap tap tap
One of the most exciting projects was - and still is - working with Sophia and John from tap tap tap on their amazing iPhone apps such as Where To?, Tipulator or Groceries. If you haven’t already, make sure you check em out.
Mindmeister
Furthermore I assisted my friends Michael and Till from Mindmeister with preparing the next big release of their collaborative online mind mapping tool. I’ve seen the preview and I can tell there are some really exciting new features to be announced :)
One more thing
But there is one more thing I’d like to talk about: a secret project I’ve been working on over the last couple of months. Hm… it’s actually not a secret anymore, since I’ve already posted some teasers on my flickr stream, right? Well so I guess it’s okay to officially let you know that I’ve been working on a new iPhone game. It’s currently being reviewed by Apple and I’m confident that it will be ready to hit the App Store sometime next week. So stay tuned…
Update
Make sure you also check out the official Dashball wallpaper set.
